Linux

The future of the cyber world is open source. The global giants are eager to capitalize on this vast ocean. UNIX was the first to make the mark. Linux is a new concept for UNIX. It is freely available and supports cutting edge hardware, not to mention it’s much easier to use than the UNIX systems that preceded it. That’s not saying that rough edges are not to be found, however. Although Linux is not particularly difficult to learn, any difficulty comes with the increase in functionality. All powerful and flexible things are usually complicated; to say that Linux isn’t powerful would deny its flexibility and complexity. New desktop environments, such as the K Desktop Environment (or KDE for short), are promising high-quality user interfaces that provide cutting-edge features previously unavailable to UNIX-like systems. Revitalized ergonomics provide a price-feature comparison not previously possible.
